Photographing an Event Lead to an Unexpected Reconnection

Recently, I had reconnected with a gal I went to high school with. We actually were in a musical together at least 10 years ago. I found out that she had started this movement called Hot Holy Healed (@hotholyhealed). Hot Holy Healed is a movement and community for women who love Jesus and are ready to become their hottest, holiest, healed selves. When I came across this, it felt like something I had been desiring that I didn’t even know I was desiring.

I was someone who was in the gym 4-5x a week and really valued being fit. However, I went through a family loss and went through a deep depression. I had been looking for a community of christian women AND I recently have been trying to walk and be outside more (and really just get back into my old healthy habits). I immediately wanted to do what I could to get involved.

I reached out to Amanda (@theamandalauren) and offered to do photography for one of her upcoming events. This event was Pilates on the Beach. I showed up not entirely knowing what to expect and it ended up being so fun and I met so many cool women. Not only did I get to take photos (which I love doing!!), but I was able to meet other women and get some movement in. Between coffee, free goodie bag, new friendships, fun photos, and getting movement in, it was a great day.

This Saturday, I’ll be joining Hot Holy Healed again for a walk with other women. I’m excited to see where this goes and i’ll update you guys soon!
